As I have mentioned earlier, different countries have different working days due to public holidays. But do you know, apart from public days, many countries do not follow the Monday to Friday workweek, unlike the United States of America? Here we will talk about those countries. 

Religious factors also control the workweek or business days. 

  • Kuwait and some other middle east countries follow from Sunday to Thursday workweek. So, Fridays and Saturdays come under weekends.
  • Just like Kuwait, Jordan, Egypt, Syria, Libya, Qatar, and The UAE also follows the Friday and Saturday weekend type. 
  • As the Jewish Shabbat generally starts from Friday evening. In Israel, Saturdays and Sundays are actually business days. 
  • Yamen and Afganistan have weekends on Thursday and Friday. 
  • On the other hand, in Brunei, people actually work on Saturdays and Fridays; Sundays are considered as weekends. 
  • India, Iran, and Nepal have only one weekend, and that is Sunday. So, there Monday to Saturday are working days.
